If you’re curious to know how the 22 year old got to amass such high net worth, then read on. There’s a lot this article has to spill.

Victony family background
By the time Victony was in Senior Secondary School, his mom temporarily moved to Owerri for a job and his dad was working away from home with Dana. Although instructed to go stay with family friends, Victony preferred to stay alone in his parents house.
He once disclosed that the decision to stay alone when his parents were away was motivated by his father’s story. Actually, Victony’s dad left home to start fending for himself at age 12.
His mother never really had an issue with him singing, as a matter of fact, she used to give him money for studio sessions but she also insisted that Victony puts his studies first.
This is not to say he had full support from his parents because they were skeptical about letting him explore music, given that he may end up with tattoos and a lot of women. However, as time progressed, parental support for Victony’s music career became stronger. They attended Victony’s listening party for his Outlaw EP and they even invited their friends.
Victony educational background
Victony attended Millbank Hall Secondary School, Ojo, Lagos State. He is currently a fresh graduate of Petroleum Engineering from the Federal University of Technology in Owerri, Imo State.
Victony wife, girlfriend, and children
Contrary to public opinion and the vibe he gives in his songs, Victony is currently not in any relationship. In his own words, “I’m figuring out my life right now, so I guess it’s going to be unfair to be in a relationship because I haven’t found a system that works for me”.
In addition to that, Victony is not married and does not have any child yet.
The journey to fame
Growing up and discovering himself
Victony grew up in Egba Housing Estate. Egba is rumored to be a neighborhood characterized by insecurity, cultism, and robbery, but Victony seemed to have a different orientation towards life compared to his peers. His focus was on mastering his music skills and making good grades in school.
Although Victony professionally started music in 2017, he had been doing freestyles and Soundcloud covers before then. So gaining admission into school became Victony’s opportunity to explore his musical dreams and he often used his feeding money to pay for more studio sessions.
In an interview with Temisan on the ‘Tea with Tay Podcast’, Victony disclosed that he discovered himself through rappers like Drake and Kendrick Lamar. He listened to their songs, studied them up close and tried to replicate their standard of delivery. It’s no doubt that the earlier version of Victony feels like a duplicate of Kendrick. If you listen to his rap song ‘Menace’, you’d confirm this.
Organizing parties in secondary school
Recall that Victony’s parents usually traveled for business purposes and the young superstar never liked the idea of staying at their family friend’s place? Though it’s been mentioned earlier that Victony loved staying home alone because of his father’s story, there’s even more to it.
Victony also preferred to stay home by himself because it was always an opportunity for him to host parties.
There was a time when he was even suspended from school and lost his ‘Labour Prefect’ post because he organized a party and paid the gatekeepers to allow some students out of the school. Actually, he was appointed the Labor Prefect on Friday and by Monday when the school management learned of what he had done, they retrieved the prefect badge from him and suspended him. Funny enough, Victony never mentioned any of these things to his parents.
It all started from the dream to be a rap star like Drake and Kendrick Lama
Victony’s plan wasn’t to become a vocal Afrobeat superstar. He started his music career as a rapper and although his producers would often call his attention to the powerful vocals he possessed, he waved singing because he only saw himself as a rapper and nothing else.
So Victony did not go into Afrobeats until 2020 when he attended a camp gathering organized by Dafe who eventually became his Manager. According to Victony he attended the camp gathering just to explore new things. That was how he recorded the ‘Saturn’ EP and found himself on the track that led to his fame as an Afrobeats artiste.
The accident
Victony had just returned back to Uni a day before the accident occurred. His Manager, Dafe called in from Lagos asking if he could come back to Lagos for an MTV interview.

Victony packed his luggage and without informing his parents, he traveled to Lagos that same day his manager called. Upon arrival, Victony hooked up with YKB at the studio, YKB told him about Oxlade’s birthday that evening and considering that his interview with MTV was the following day, he decided to attend the birthday party.
On the way back home Victony slept off in the car, probably because he was exhausted considering that was his first time in a club and he had never stayed out that late before.
By the time Victony woke up from his sleep it was three days later and he was in the hospital with his family beside him. Unfortunately, the fourth person (Doyin) in the car who was seated with Victony at the back couldn’t make it alive. RIP Doyin. The other friends were injured but Victony broke his bones and was confined to the wheel chair for about a year.
After full recovery, Victony has been invited to several interviews and one of the most recurring questions is the impact the accident had on him.
To that, Victony has revealed that being confined to the wheel chair and only receiving care from his family and few other people made him value his family more. He also learned how to live life outside music and studies and became more appreciative of the little things that life offered.

How the feature with Burna Boy happened
Truth is Victony really didn’t plan for a collaboration with Burna Boy, it all happened like a dream and here’s the full story:
It was at BNXN‘s show and Victony was to perform. Getting ready to go on stage, he sees Burnaboy smiling at him. In his own words, “I wanted to ignore it because I felt it can’t be me. Does Burnaboy know who I am? Why is Burnaboy smiling at me?”
While Victony was still in his thoughts contemplating what to do, Burnaboy signaled for his guys to bring Victony to him. Upon meeting Victony, Burnaboy shook his hands and told him they needed to make music.
So, that was how Victony’s collaboration with Burnaboy happened.
Is Victony really obsessed with ‘ass’?
Contrary to what the media paints, Victony is really not obsessed with ‘ass’. Even his song, ‘All Power’ was created out of what the media thought about him. The hook of that song was added just to get a reaction from people who already believed he couldn’t do without ‘ass’. In his own words he said, “…there was already a conversation about me and ‘bumbum’ on the Internet. It was kind of exaggerated but I just wanted to play the role still and give them what they needed at the time because people really liked it…”
The inspiration behind ‘Kolomental’
Did you know? Kolomental was released exactly one year after Victony had the accident.
According to Victony, he was sad when he did the song and he just wanted to express his feelings at that moment. He wanted to let himself, his family, friends, and fans know they’re overcomers.
He said, “I wanted to put a strong message out there…no matter what the world throws at us, we’ll keep moving, we’re not going to think about it too much and we’d be grateful for life in general”.
Why is Victony called the ‘Outlaw King’?
In May 2022, Victony released his sophomore EP titled ‘Outlaw’. It is from this EP title that he came to be known as the ‘Outlaw King’. But you may be wondering what inspired the release of that EP, so let’s dive in.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the Outlaw EP, Victony said:
“This project means everything to me, because I was able to express myself in my truest form. I make all types of music – I want different people to connect with me on different levels. Whether happy or sad, party person or loner. I make music for everyone, and I don’t want to be kept in a box. So I’m defying the norm, and this project is the start of it. Some of the songs on this project were recorded as far back as 2020. I was supposed to drop this project in 2021, then the accident happened. But, delay isn’t denial, so I know God has a reason for letting it happen. I feel now He’s ready to show me to the world”.
Then, talking about the idea behind the Outlaw gospel, he said, “When you’re in a position like mine, people want you to live in a certain way. The Gospel of the Outlaw is to just be yourself. It seems like being yourself now is sort of a crime so I’m pretty much saying if being yourself is a crime, then we’re outlaws.
